SURGERY ROOM EQUIPMENT
Modern Veterinary Surgery is done with the same high standards you would expect in a human hospital. Surgery is done as sterile as possible. Doctors are gowned
Picture of 2 Doctors performing sterile surgery with caps, masks, and sterile gloves. All instruments and surgical drapes are sterilized in a high-tech autoclave (This is the medical equivalent of a pressure cooker. It allows us to completely sterilize instruments and surgical supplies at temperatures over 250 degrees F, killig all bacteria and viruses). Stainless steel tables and instrument stands allow for ease of cleaning and sanitizing between cases. Modern overhead surgical lights, and special headlights and magnification (as seen in the picture) allow for doing finely detailed work such as heart and eye surgeries. Every effort is made to offer your pet the professional care that he or she deserves!

Our Vital Signs Monitors are modern, state-of-the-art medical monitors that helps insure the highest level of safety for our patients
Picture of Vital Signs Monitor during an anesthetic procedure. Our surgery monitor continually measures and reports: heart rate (pulse), respiratory rate, pulse oximetry (blood oxygen levels), capnography (exhaled carbon dioxide levels), blood pressure, internal body core temperature, and also graphs a current electrocardiogram (EKG). These recordings allow us to continually monitor the level of anesthetic, and all physiological parameters of body function affected by anesthesia. We have 3 units in the Hospital: one in surgery, one in the treatment to monitor minor procedures and induction, and one in the recovery ward to monitor recovering patients.

All major anesthetic and surgery cases will have blood panel testing done prior to surgery. By evaluating blood parameters (just like we expect
Picture of modern gas anesthesia machine and respirator them to do for us prior to surgery) we can determine a pet's internal organ conditions prior to anesthesia. Any abnormalities are either treated for during surgery, or stabilized prior to surgery being done. This is just one more important safety protocol necessary for your pet's protection.

Modern Gas Anesthesia machines with respirators are used for all surgeries. The use of both isofluorane and sevofluorane anesthetic gases insure the highest level of safety during anesthesia.

This section contains many vivid pictures of actual surgery. Please be aware that the pictures are real, very graphic, and a little blood will be seen. All patients in the following pictures did quite well, and most went home with their "parents" the same day.!

So if you're ready to see some fantastic pictures (remember, they may be a little different for some of you), come on in and see the miracles of modern-day surgery.
